This policy describes how Tabbe handles your information. It reflects the current state of the app and services as of the date below.

1. Information we collect
- Account information: username and password when you create an account and sign in.
- Profile information: information you choose to add, such as your name.
- People and relationship data: names and details you add about people you track.
- Session content: notes, transcripts, summaries, and other text you enter or generate.
- Voice input data: audio recordings you submit for transcription.
- Derived data: extracted facts, reminders, date-related information, and calendar events generated from session content.
- Technical data: basic server logs such as IP address, request path, and timestamps.
2. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve Tabbe features.
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Process voice interactions and produce transcripts.
- Generate summaries, reminders, and question-answering responses.
- Organize people, sessions, and calendar-related information.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Monitor reliability and troubleshoot service issues.
3. Voice, microphone, and speech data
Tabbe requests microphone and speech-related permissions so you can record voice interactions and use speech functionality. If you deny microphone access, voice recording features may not work.
Audio submitted for transcription is transmitted to our backend for processing and may be sent to our AI service provider for speech-to-text. Temporary audio files are intended to be deleted after transcription processing is completed.
4. AI processing and third-party providers
- OpenAI: used for transcription and language features, including summaries and question answering.
- Database hosting (PostgreSQL/Supabase): used to store account and app data.
- Optional vector search infrastructure: when enabled, selected text chunks and metadata may be stored to support semantic search quality.
We share only the data reasonably needed for providers to perform services on our behalf.
We do not sell your personal information and do not use your data for third-party advertising.
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
- Performance of a contract (to provide the service you request).
- Legitimate interests (to secure and improve the service).
- Consent (for permissions such as microphone access, where required).
- Compliance with legal obligations.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can delete people entries in the app, and you can delete your account from account settings in the app.

7. Security
- Data in transit between the app and server is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS).
- Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, not plain text.
- Authentication uses token-based access.
- Device tokens are stored in secure OS storage where available.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data. To submit a privacy request, contact davidsprogramplayground@gmail.com with enough detail for us to process your request.
9. Children's privacy
Tabbe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
10. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own by us and our service providers. Where required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate safeguards.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date.
